Winners Announced for the 25th Annual Flickerfest International and Australian Awards

The winner for the 25th Annual Flickerfest International and Australian awards were announced on Sunday Night at the Bondi Pavillon, Bondi Beach.

Taking out the Flickerfest Award for Best International Short Film was Toby Fell-Holden’s Balcony (UK). French short-animation, He Who Has Two Souls / Celui Qui Deux Åmes won the Yoram Gross Award for Best International Short Animation.

Australian’s took home some awards as well, including David Hansen who wrote and directed, Sling Shot, winning the Virgin Australia Award for Best Australian Short Film.

Canon Award for Best Direction in an Australian Short Film went to Red Rover, written and directed by Brooke Goldfinch, and Best Australian Short Animation was awarded to The Orchestra by Mikey Hill and Jennifer Smith.

Budding directors also picked up some awards including Miles Gibson for Malcom & John who picked up an award for Best High School Production. Best Primary School Production went to Tracey Rigney’s Teacher’s Pet.
