Trailer released for the Selena Gomez executive produced Netflix series 13 Reasons Why

Netflix is getting a new series based on Jay Asher’s best selling young adult novel 13 Reasons Why on Friday, March 31st. There’s a bit of an all star team behind this one – some episodes are directed by Academy Award winner Tom McCarthy (Spotlight), the film is executive produced by Selena Gomez (yes, THE Selena Gomez) and among the leads is newcomer Aussie actress Katherine Langford.

The Netflix original series conveniently features 13 episodes, and follows teenager Clay Jensen (newcomer Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford) —his classmate and crush—who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Will Clay be one of them? If he listens, he’ll find out how he made the list. Heavy.

If that piques your interest, the first trailer for the series has been released and you can watch it here:

All 13 episodes of this young adult drama will launch globally on Netflix on Friday, 31st March 2017.
