Inferno, based on the book by Dan Brown, is being turned into a film starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, and Sidse Babett Knudsen. Dan Brown will be executive producing, alongside Anna Culp, Bill Connor, and David Householter. The film begins production this April, and is set to be released on October 14, 2016. This will be the third film starring the character, Robert Langdon.

The story will follow the Harvard symbologist’s adventures on screen, where Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) wakes up in a hospital with amnesia. He teams up with a Dr. Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones) who he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s Inferno.

Director and producer, Ron Howard says that he “wanted Tom Hanks to be surrounded by an international cast of actors whose energy will underscore Robert Langdon’s life-or-death peril, the high-stakes action he takes, and the global threat that he’s trying to prevent.”
