Stan to screen new Jim Carrey series Kidding in 2018

Stan has recently announced that Showtime’s Kidding, has been picked up for a first season order of 10 episodes. This comes as part of Stan’s exclusive content deal with Showtime, as Kidding joins shows such as Billions and I’m Dying Up Here and is set to premiere in 2018, exclusively on Stan.

Carrey plays protagonist Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles, an icon of children’s television, and a huge influence of young minds and the parents who grew up watching him, as he also now runs a multimillion dollar branding empire. But when his family begins to fall apart, Jeff finds that nothing he’s ever done or learnt in his career can guide him through this crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope.

“No one inhabits a character like Jim Carrey, and this role – which is like watching Humpty Dumpty after the fall – is going to leave television audiences wondering how they went so long without him,” said David Nevins, President and CEO, Showtime Networks Inc. “With his Eternal Sunshine partner Michel Gondry on board to direct, we are on our way to a magnetic, volcanic and emotional viewing experience.”

Kidding will premiere exclusively on Stan in 2018.
