Spider-Man Homecoming epic debut trailer has our Spidey senses tingling

“This is my chance to prove myself”, says Spider-Man (Tom Holland), as the first official trailer for the upcoming entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe – Spider-Man: Homecoming – makes its debut.

Though Holland’s Spider-Man debuted to praise in Captain America: Civil War, this third incarnation of a live action Spidey in less than ten years still had plenty to prove in his first stand-alone adventure. And for now, at least, it seems he is doing the job, as we go back to High School and recall some of our favourite moments with Sam Raimi’s take on the iconic superhero. But don’t take our word for it – watch it for yourself:

Robert Downey Jr., who pops up in the trailer, returns as Tony Stark / Iron Man, while the relatively unknown Jon Watts serves as Director. And though this is an official entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony/Columbia have retained co-production and distribution rights.

Marisa Tomei reprises her role from Civil War as Aunt May for the film, while Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Donald Glover and more are also part of the cast. Michael Keaton is playing The Vulture (we’re hoping for a Birdman joke in there somewhere…)

Spider-Man: Homecoming hits Australian cinemas on 6th July 2017
