After a four-year absence from these beautiful shores, hometown heroes Gang of Youths have announced their return. And what a return! The now London-based Sydneysiders are taking over the world-famous Sydney Opera House, Concert Hall for two nights this August. Far from resting on their laurels during this time, the band have been busy selling out venues worldwide and sharing the stage with the likes of Foo Fighters, Mumford & Sons and Sam Fender.
Lead vocalist, David Le’aupepe said “There’s no place like home! We’re incredibly excited to be back, playing in Sydney, to finally play some new music in one of the most special venues in the world.”
Gang of Youths are easily one of Australia’s favourite musical exports. Expect to rock out to hits like “Let Me Down Easy” from chart topping album Go Farther in Lightness, and the emotionally charged but toe tappingly great “Magnolia” from their debut album, The Positions.
