The first teaser for upcoming SEGA title, Sonic Forces has been revealed at the annual SXSW festival. The trailer features a break-neck journey through a city under siege, with Sonic dashing his way through a gorgeous landscape.
The footage feels like a far cry from classic Sonic games, and strangely reminiscent of 2006’s franchise killer Sonic the Hedgehog. Despite this, there are some cool moments that show great promise for the game. Only time will tell if Sonic Forces can break away from SEGA’s string of bad luck with the franchise.
Sonic Forces is releasing in 2017 on Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
