Paramount Pictures Australia are gearing up the release of side-splitting comedy Top Five from the always peppy mind of Chris Rock with a red band trailer that looks very promising, showcasing the huge cast in what we are expecting to be one of the genuinely hilarious comedies this year.

The blend of star-studded comedic romp with romance is driven by the rhythm of Chris Rock’s greatest stand-up performance, digging under the surface of show business, politics, rap, fame, and race. Top Five was written and directed by Chris Rock, who also takes the main role as comedian-turned-film star Andre Allen who develops an unexpected romance with a journalist (Rosario Dawson) which forces him to confront his comedy career and the past that he has left behind. The huge cast includes Gabrielle Union, Cedric The Entertainer, J.B. Smoove, Michael Che, Sherri Shepard, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, Kevin Hart, Anders Holm, and Jay Pharaoh.

The film is produced by Scott Rudin and Eli Bush with co-production coming from none other than The ThroneShawn “Jay Z” Carter and Kanye West. The Roots’ Questlove will serve as the Executive Music Producer.

Top Five is in Australian cinemas from March 5th, released through Paramount Pictures Australia
