Peter Capaldi will appear in the premiere of brand new Doctor Who spin off series Class on ABC2

ABC2 have partnered with BBC to release the Doctor Who spin off series Class, written by award-winning author Patrick Ness (The Knife of Never Letting Go, A Monster Calls). The twelfth and current Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, will make an appearance in the first episode of the double debut.

Katherine Kelly (Mr Selfridge, Coronation Street) will join a cast of newcomers, including, Greg Austin, Fady Elsayed, Sophie Hopkins and Vivian Oparah, in the highly anticipate series.

Class is a darker take on Doctor Who universe Whovians have grown to love. Set in contemporary London the series centres around Coal Hill High School students, but is not intended for young audiences.

“they face their own fears and navigate a life of friends, parents, school work, sex, sorrow – and possibly the end of existence,” Says ABC.

The show will explore fear, tragedy and war. As years of time traveling cause the walls of Coal Hill High School to become thin, something threatens to break into the school to kill everyone and bring them into Shadow.

Class will premier on ABC2 on Monday, 24 October, and will be available to stream on ABC iView straight after its release in the UK on Saturday, 22 October.
