Palace Cinema Norton Street brings back the Vintage Classics program!

After a brief hiatus, the popular and loved Vintage Classics program will be returning to Palace Cinema Norton Street every Sunday afternoon at 3pm.

The program will have carefully selected classic films which will definitely take audiences on a cinematic adventure from May 1st with Elvis: That’s The Way It Is through to Mel BrooksBlazing Saddles in October. Each month has been programmed to follow a specific theme, encouraging audiences to enjoy the vintage classics in the comfort of a cinema, following the context of what would be a mini-festival.

The program commences with ‘Hooked on a Feeling: Music and the Movies’ which sees the month of May playing musical favourites: Yankee Doodle Dandy, Wizard of Oz, Moonwalker and Singin’ in the Rain.

June takes us into winter and out to space with ‘It Came from Outer Space’: a look beyond the stars with cult-classics Dune and Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Iron Giant (signature edition).

In the subsequent months ahead, the program will include other films in the genres of romance, adventure, comedy and fantasy showing titles like When Harry Met Sally, The Red Shoes, The Rocky Horror Show and Belle Du Jour. Suffice it to say, the Vintage Classics program would want you to turn back time on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Tickets are $8 and $10 (Palace Movie Club / non-members)
