New trailer drops for Jeff Nichols’ anticipated sci-fi thriller Midnight Special

The second trailer for the anticipated new film from Jeff Nichols (Mud, Take Shelter) has been released, giving us more insight into a film that looks to be as thrilling as it is intimate.

The trailer shows pieces of intense and gripping moments with emotional performances from Kirsten Dunst, Michael Shannon and Joel Edgerton. 

Midnight Special tells the story of a father who is on the run with his son who has mysterious powers that neither can comprehend.

What starts as a race from religious extremists and local law enforcement quickly escalates to a nationwide manhunt involving the highest levels of the Federal Government. The perilous journey takes audiences on a thrilling ride, exploring bonds of love and trust, and the nature of faith.

Midnight Special opens in Australian cinemas on April 21.
