Netflix debuts trailer for unconventional new series Atypical

With the consistent barrage of Netflix original/exclusive shows, Atypical joins the ranks in what seems to be a familiar narrative with an unconventional twist.

Atypical revolves around Sam (played by Keir Gilchrist), a young, autistic high school student struggling with the opposite sex and what it means to date, socialise and ultimately connect. As previously mentioned, the premise is familiar, but the focus of the trailer seems to put Sam and his family at the forefront, as they trail Sam on his complex and challenging journey to help him become what he hopes he can be. Normal. The trailer shows us that normal is not something we should always aim for, as our differences are what define us.

All episodes of Atypical debut on August 11, exclusively on Netflix.
