Here’s the first look at HBO Series Sharp Objects starring Amy Adams

The first look at new HBO series Sharp Objects has arrived wth a new trailer. Starring Amy Adams (Arrival), the series is based on the bestselling novel by Gone Girl’s Gillian Flynn. The show is set to premiere in July 2018 as an eight-part series exclusively in Australia on Foxtel’s showcase channel.

The minute-long teaser trailer introduces us to the eerie world of Wind Gap, Missouri, home to reporter Camille Preaker (Adams), who rekindles relations with her estranged family as she investigates the murders of two young girls. In the midst of piecing a psychological puzzle psychological puzzle from her past, she finds herself identifying with the young victims a little too closely. Sharp Objects co-stars Patricia Clarkson (Learning to Drive), Chris Messina (The Mindy Project), Elizabeth Perkins (Weeds), Matt Craven (Jacob’s Ladder) and young Australian actress Eliza Scanlen (Home and Away) in her breakout role as Adams’ 13- year-old half-sister, Amma. The series is directed by Jean-Marc Vallee (Big Little Lies) and scripted by both Gillian Flynn and Marti Noxon.

The series will be available to stream express from the U.S. on Foxtel Now as well as on Foxtel’s channel showcase from July.
