Has DC found their Green Lantern?

With Justice League only six months away, fans have been speculating when the unknown seventh member of the Justice League would be revealed. It appears that we might now be a step closer to knowing who the potential member may be.

On social media for the past few months, Superman himself, Henry Cavill , has been teasing that the Green Lantern would be joining the DC Extended Universe in the near future.

Yesterday, Tyrese Gibson (Fast and Furious Franchise) posted a teaser image that he might be taking the mantle of the Green Lantern. If this is true then it appears that the DC will be pursuing the John Stewart rendition of the Green Lantern. This is most likely to stick clear of the negative reaction and stigma of 2011’s Green Lantern which starred Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan (another Green Lantern from Earth) and provide more diversity to the cast.

He would be joining Fast and the Furious co-stars Gal Gadot and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to be cast by DC.

No official confirmation has been made.

For those interested in learning more about John Stewart and the Green Lantern Corps, refer to DC Comics New 52 Green Lantern Corps Vol 1: Fearsome (2011) and Green Lantern Vol 2. #182-#200 (1984-1986).

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, J K Simmons, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Kiersey Clemons and Ciarán Hinds.

Justice League explodes into Australian cinemas 16th November 2017.
