Check out Johnny Depp as Whitey Bulger in the new Black Mass trailer

Johnny Depp Films A Violent Scene For 'Black Mass'

If you’re a fan of Johnny Depp (and let’s face it, we all are) then you’ll definitely want to check out the trailer for his latest film, Black Mass. Directed by Scott Cooper, the movie is a biopic based on the life of James “Whitey” Bulger, as told by Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill in their 2001 book Black Mass: The True Story of an Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob.

Black Mass stars Depp as Bulger, the brother of a state senator and the most infamous violent criminal in the history of South Boston, who became an FBI informant to take down a Mafia family invading his turf. Depp is only one name in a hugely impressive cast, which includes the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Juno Temple, Corey Stoll, Kevin Bacon, Adam Scott and Dakota Johnson.

Black Mass is released in Australian cinemas September 17 through Roadshow Films.
