Due to its overwhelming popularity, the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) on Flinders Street has decided to extend the season of its blockbuster experience, DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition, by three weeks. The exhibition is an incredible chance for fans of DreamWorks animated films to see the process that each film takes from the initial idea right through to the finished product, split up into three sections: Character, Story and World.

The exhibition ‘features over 400 items including, never-before-seen concept drawings, interviews, models and original artworks, and interactive experiences to entertain both children and adults’. Included in the exhibition are blockbuster favourites Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. Also included are recent hits The Croods and Mr. Peabody & Sherman, as well as early hand-drawn films The Prince of Egypt and Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.

Also included is Dragon Flight: a Dragon’s-Eye View of Berk, an immersive audiovisual experience that allows fans to see the construction of the Viking township of Berk on an exhilarating panoramic dragon ride on the back of Toothless the dragon.

DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition is a truly fascinating experience for fans of DreamWorks Animation and all fans of film in general. Don’t miss this chance to see how many of the best animated films of the past decade were made.
