Vegetarian burgers and jaffa sundaes feature on Huxtaburgers new menu (Melbourne)

The team at Melbourne’s famed Huxtaburger have been busy putting the finishing touches on a new menu expansion that rolling out across their multiple locations last week. There’s a strong focus on widening the range of vegetarian options (seriously, how many burger joints have only one vego-option and expect that to be enough?) as well as dipping into breakfast options with Huxtaburger’s own take on the classic bacon ‘n’ egg feed.

Following the successful launch of their Vege Denise burger earlier this year, the team have added a Sondra Burger, which takes vege-burgers a step up with a kale, quinoa and zucchini patty layered with hummus, pickled onion, beetroot, tomato, and lettuce. They’ll be offering this one up for $12.50 each.

Breakfast at Huxtaburger will be tempting with The Vanessa (set at $7.90) which is a bacon and egg bun with cheese, creamy bloody mary mayo, and tomato sauce. It’ll be accompanied by sides of Panko Crumbed Onion Rings and Skull Island Prawns.

Sweeter options have been given a little kick up too, with Choc, Mint, Jaffa, and Bubblegum Milkshakes taking care of that necessary sugar+milk hit, while the ice cream menu has welcomed new Choc-Mint and Jaffa sundaes.

The shake-up seems to be part of Huxtaburger’s acknowledgement of a wider range of customers, many of whom are gluten intolerant or vegetarian, although the meat-lovers haven’t at all been forgotten with the classic menu still in tact and very much at the heart of Huxtaburger’s ongoing evolution.

“We love mixing things up but will always stay true to our focus on delivering delicious American style burgers with a Huxta-twist”, said co-owner Daniel Wilson.
