U.S based alternative fashion event MADE Sydney to debut at Carriageworks this weekend

Mercedes-Benz have brought another big fashion event to Carriageworks, presenting MADE Sydney across this weekend in the iconic arts hub. The hybrid fashion, skate, and music event will be making its debut from Friday 11th November, seeking the recreate the alternative fashion that made this such a mainstay on the New York fashion scene since 2009.

A replica of the sorely missed Hubba Hideout skateboard spot in San Fransisco will serve as one of the anchors of MADE Sydney, designed with an open approach to local skateboarders and also serving as a platform for the first-ever fashion show by Paris-based brand Faith Connexion.

The world premiere of M2M film The High Life: Slim Aarons is on the agenda, as is an exclusive photo exhibition provided and curated by Getty Images to complement the documentary.

Australian fashion favourite Emma Mulholland will be in attendance to launch with exclusive collaboration t-shirt which will be available for purchase on the Sunday, while she also offers a sneak peek at her upcoming collection. Meanwhile, nearby will be a big skate competition hosted and judged by official ambassador and pro-skater Corbin Harris.

Of course, the weekend will be complete with a huge array of fashion pop-up stores where designers will be able to connect directly with the public, bringing the likes of brands and retailers like the aforementioned Faith Connexion, 69, Daisy, Distal Phalanx, and more. Brands featured include Andrea Crews, Assk, Damage Group, Dog God, Idol, Justice, Romeo, Meat, Egy Boy, Hood By Air, The Incoporated, Mort Paris, Mr Completely, and more.

Throughout the weekend, a range of DJ’s will be taking the decks to fill Carriageworks with appropriate beats. Astral People, Pelvis, Swiss Dank, and more will be holding it down while fashion and skate culture come together in one of the very best venues in Australia.
