Taco shells made out of fried chicken are spreading across the U.S.A

Look we can get pretty crazy down here in Australia with our hybrid foods and pop-culture themed eateries, but our love for food that shouldn’t exist is nothing compared to what’s going on over in the States. The latest is Taco Bell, who through last year have been trialing taco shells made out of fried chicken in various stores across the U.S.A. It’s been a hit (because of course) so the Tex-Mex chain figures they should release the unholy concept nationwide.

Come January 26th the Naked Chicken Chalupa will be available all across the U.S.A, so more and more indulgent fast-food lovers can enjoy what’s a range of chalupa fillings that have been neatly arranged inside of a freakin’ piece of fried chicken that has been shaped into a taco shell.

Apparently it’s an attempt to tap into a nationwide reemergence of fried chicken (when did demand for fried bird ever go away?) which has poultry outranking beef and pork in the U.S.A. According to bloomberg the average American is expected to eat around 91.7 pounds of chicken this year, which is the most on record according to the National Chicken Council.
