Sydney’s insta-famous Tella Balls Dessert Bar opens in Surfers Paradise (Gold Coast)

After a huge year of growth for Tella Balls Dessert Bar, which first made international headlines with their doughnut-topped milkshakes before opening in both Sydney’s Dulwich Hill and Concord, the self-proclaimed “King of Desserts” has finally gone interstate. Co-owners Aki Daikos and Simon Kappatos have now opened up a 54-seater cafe at the sun-soaked Surfers Paradise, bringing their array of insta-ready nutella-filled desserts to the locals and hordes of tourists who regularly descend on the Gold Coast.

Opening earlier this week, Tella Balls Dessert Bar has fit right in at 10 Beach Road where it presents sugar-lovers with a huge selection of desserts including the original Tella Ball doughnut – a light and fluffy doughnut ball drizzled in cinnamon sugar and filled with Nutella and topped with Cadbury flakes – as well as doughnut sliders, doughnut fries, doughnut ice-cream cones, dessert kebabs, house made crepes, gelato, milk shakes, and pancakes. There’s also the signature dessert lasagne, which is made with layers of decadent mousse and fresh cream on a chocolate biscuit base with lashings of Nutella served with vanilla bean gelato.

“We are beyond excited to be opening our first QLD store in Surfers Paradise”, said Daikos. “It was clear we needed to bring a Tella Balls Dessert Bar store offering to Surfers Paradise as we noticed we have a lot of demand in that area through Instagram.”
