Surry Hills is getting a pop up cereal cafe with Corn Flakes crumbed chicken burgers and Coco Pops hot chocolates (Sydney)

Creating a coco pops gelato with Gelato Messina just wasn’t enough for cereal overlords Kellogg’s, now the brand is teaming up with Surry Hills’ brunch spot Kawa to stage a one-week-only cereal pop-up this month. Those heading along to this temporary takeover will be met with a bespoke menu interpreting some of the brand’s most renowned cereals including Coco Pops, Corn Flakes, Rice Bubbles, and Special K.

Brunch, lunch, drinks, and desserts will feature on the menu, mashing these morning treats with a whole heap of other stuff like kale, French toast, hot chocolate, crispy bacon, spinach, and brioche buns. The full menu will be announced the week before the launch (which is on Tuesday 19th April) but the sneak-peek reveals some ungodly mash-ups like Crunchy Nut and Nutri-Grain cereal milk thickshakes [wtf]; Coco Pops creamy hot chocolate [wtf]; Rice Bubbles crusted decadent French toast with banana, maple syrup and crispy bacon [wtf]; Gluten free breakfast salad with fresh kale, spinach, crispy green apple, gluten free Special K and poached eggs [wtf]; Fruit Loop muffin cakes with cereal milk icing [wtf]; and a Corn Flakes crumbed chicken burger with homemade chilli mayo, ripe tomato, and lettuce on a warm brioche bun [wtf].

The whole pop-up is to launch the brand’s new interactive website, Open for Breakfast, which seeks to spread knowledge about these breakfasts – how they are made, what they are made of, etc.

Kellogg’s x Kawa Cereal Café will be located at 348 Crown Street, Surry Hills, from Tuesday 19th April through Sunday 24th April. Daily hours are 7:30am to 5pm.
