Royal Brunei Airlines offering return flights from Australia to London from under $900

They may not be an airline you hear too much about, but Royal Brunei Airlines are offering some of the cheapest fares from Australia to London you’ll find anywhere right now – starting from under $1000 as part of a sale running for the next 11 days. And though the airline company, based out of Brunei (which can be found on the north coast of the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia), is relatively small (the only have 10 operating aircraft), this isn’t budget travel we’re talking about – all flights will take you in comfort on their new 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The only catch is, if you don’t live in Melbourne, you’ll have to get yourself there – because the route is from Melbourne Tullamarine to London Heathrow via Brunei and Dubai (where we don’t believe you leave the aircraft), with 26 to 27 hours of flight time in either direction (which, given the two stops, is actually not that bad). The deals are advertised as starting from $999 through their official website, while resellers such as STA Travel are offering the route for as much as $100 off – with some fares spotted for as low as $899 (including all fees and taxes) as part of a promotion they’re running on behalf of the airline (though they’re promoting the fact that only 100 seats are available at this price).

Most of the best fares can be found departing in August and returning in September of this year, though you are likely to find similar fares with both flights in August, and even some for the remaining days of this month. The Royal Brunei website makes it easy to explore different fares around your preferred dates.

And to put it all in perspective, on many of the dates we trialled when booking, the next cheapest airline was China Eastern Airlines, who were some $500 more than we’re talking about here… This is about as good as a deal to London as you’re ever going to find.

All prices in Australian dollars. The sale continues until 23rd May 2016. For more details head to the official Royal Brunei Website, or search for the fares on STA Travel.
