Queensland’s awarded Betty’s Burgers open first venue in Melbourne

One of Queensland’s most awarded burger shacks, Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co. (often referred to as just Betty’s Burgers), has long been a staple for burger fiends and visitors up north. Their three stores, the flagship in Noosa and the subsequent openings in Surfers Paradise and Robina, have remained in such high regard that it’s surprising the business didn’t expand to other states sooner. All that changes now, as Betty’s have opened their first ever restaurant in Melbourne, standing proudly at 97 Elizabeth Street and bringing a very welcome addition to the scene.

Betty’s will be keeping things consistent for their fourth Australian burger shack, offering the same range that made the business so popular to begin with including their signature Betty’s Classic and the more health-conscious Bare Betty. For sides, they’ll be staying playful with house-made frozen custard ice-creams pumped from a 9050’s inspired custom machine, all available with mix-ins like chocolate-chip cookie dough and Persian fairy-floss.

Of course, there’s also the list of thickshakes to get through, all described as dense in flavour with options including caramel, strawberry and choc-peanut butter

“We’re passionate about what we do and committed to getting every single element right and we hope that is evident to the burger fans of the south”, said found David Hales. “I can’t count the times we’ve considered how delicately the bun should be toasted, or debated the exact amount of times the beef should pass through the mincer”.

The beef patties used at Betty’s are hand made using local grain fed cattle, each selected for consistent marbling. Upon cooking, the patties are pressed on the grill to create a thick crust and lock in their natural juices.

Melbourne’s first Betty’s Burgers seems to be just the beginning of a much bigger expansion, with the business planning give more Australian stores in the near future. There’ll be one in Sydney’s Darling Harbour, two in Brisbane, and one each for Gold Coast’s Pacific Fair and Toowoomba.
