The Pyrmont Festival is back again in 2017 with a two-week long event to advertise the best of both the Pyrmont and New South Wale’s stunning Mudgee region. Pyrmont will play host to the event from May 13th – 27th, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the country charm of the Mudgee Region as well as the best the city has to offer, which for most people means lots and lots of incredible drops of cool-climate wine. The festival will include everything from events and experiences to photographic exhibitions and art displays.
Wineries from across Mudgee will participate, including award-winning cellar doors Moothi Estate, First Ridge Wines, Manners Wines and newcomers Slowfox and Elephant Mountain Wines. Pyrmont eateries Pizzaperta, The Apprentice and Pyrmont Point Hotel will serve as locations for visitors to enjoy the best Mudgee wines amongst the harbourside city views acting as the perfect backdrop. In total, there will be more than 50 restaurants, wine bars, hotels, winemakers and artists showcased from both Pyrmont and Mudgee.
This year’s highlight will be the weekend event in the city’s spacious Pirrama Park on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May. An event designed for the whole family, with live music, local and Mudgee region artists showcasing renowned Mudgee Sculptures, rides and children’s entertainment. The festival boats approximately 100 stalls where guests can meet wine-makers, participants can taste and sample a broad range of fine foods and regional produce.
It is a unique opportunity for Mudgee Region to offer a taste of its award-winning country charm to city dwellers and Pyrmont, just two kilometres from the CBD, in an aim to position itself as one of Sydney’s fastest growing tourist, creative, cultural and dining precincts. The festival is partnered with the Star Casino and will conclude with the exciting Pyrmont Growers Market, offering a range of food from local producers and farmers on 27th May.
