One of the world’s greatest Turkish chefs to cook at Efendy for one night only (Sydney)

He runs one of the most acclaimed restaurants in the world, Istanbul’s Mikla (currently number 56 in world’s 50 best restaurants), and for one night only he’ll be joining Sydney’s Somer Sivrioglu at Balmain eatery Effendy. For a one-off collaboration dinner Sivrioglu has invited his good friend Mehmet Gürs to fly in and give guests an incredible opportunity to taste some of the best Turkish food in the world as together they offer a four-course menu.

To top that off, Gürs will be bringing Mikla’s sommelier, Sabiha Apaydin, along with him to help the night along with matching Turkish wines, paired with dishes like Lamb Shank Manit with smoked yoghurt, tomato and sumar, and Candied Pumpkin with saffron-yoghurt ice cream, sesame, pistachio and hemp. If, like most of Sydney, you’re a fan of Effendy’s regular offerings as well as Sivrioglu’s Barangaroo restaurant Anason, then this dinner is not to be missed.

This fine food does come at a price though. The four-course dinner will set you back $175 per person ($240 if you want the matching Turkish wines as well).

The full menu includes the following:
