Melbourne’s newest luxury hotel is inspired by high fashion

Melbourne is just weeks away from its newest luxury hotel, which is part of the prestigious and highly curated M Gallery by Sofitel collection. Titled Hotel Chadstone Melbourne, the $130 million five-star property of 250 rooms, suites and penthouses (2 penthouses to be exact) will welcome guests from the 1st November.

Featuring a wellness retreat and day spa complete with LED lounge and yoga studio, the hotel will mark the first time a five-star property has opened outside Melbourne’s centre, sporting design that’s been worked up from a collaboration between globally renowned architectural firms DWP, EDG and Australia’s Bates Smart.

The 12-storey hotel will be physically connected to its namesake destination, a world-class shopping, dining and lifestyle precinct that lies 17km outside of Melbourne CBD.

Hotel Chadstone will offer visitors and guests luxurious and exceptional experiences from the finest cuisine, to our world-class spa and wellness retreat, to elegantly designed rooms, spacious suites or penthouses which offer the ultimate rooftop escape”, said Chadstone Director Fiona Mackenzie. “Demonstrating our commitment to continually evolve Chadstone, the hotel will capitalize upon and enhance Chadstone’s proven international and domestic appeal which sees 24 million people visit us each year, including more than half a million international visitors.”

Sticking true to M Gallery by Sofitel’s standard of unwavering locally-minded properties defined by charisma and luxury, the hotel makes use of a “Inspired by Her” program which aligns with Chadstone’s reputation as “The Fashion Capital”.

This has been expressed with a special attention to exclusive services and details that make the difference in the luxury segment through beauty items and emergency kits for women, a strong focus on nutrition and wellness, with dishes and drinks inspired by notable women, and other service’s dedicated to womens’ well-being.

In guest rooms, expect splashes of blush and washes of teal set against commissioned furniture inspired by trunks from luxury European fashion houses, complete with leather detailing, custom lighting and individually crafted bespoke seating.

The hotel’s pool sits on the rooftop, with loungers and private cabanas offering panoramic views of Melbourne’s cityscape. Altus is also located here, with an outdoor conservatory bar featuring an open skylight and terrazzo bar facing Port Phillip Bay, and an interior defined by its custom designed seven-tier wine glass holder chandelier.

Elsewhere, the hotel welcomes a new restaurant concept from Scott Pickett, titled Pastore with Italian-inspired all-day dining focused on woodfire-fuelled cooking and handmade pasta.

Hotel Chadstone Melbourne MGallery by Sofitel has an exclusive opening offer available for bookings made before 31 October (for stays from 1 November 2019). The offer includes accommodation, plus a $50 Chadstone Gift Card presented on check in for use during the stay. The opening offer package is priced from $275 per room per night.
