Hanoi Hannah and Huxtaburger hook up for limited edition Banh Mi Burger (Melbourne)

Vietnamese favourite Hanoi Hannah has hooked up with Huxtaburger to offer a special limited edition Bánh Mi Burger, clashing two food staples together in what is no doubt going to be a huge hit. Huxtaburger’s Daniel Wilson and Hanoi Hannah’s Mathew Johns worked closely together to come up with the perfect east-meets-west fusion, ensuring that the Vietnamese burger is punchy and captures the freshness of a good ol’ bánh mi.

Huxtaburger are using their signature buns which Johns has filled with pate, spicy mayo, crispy shallots, lemongrass, ginger, and a chilli pork patty as well as pickled carrot, nouc mam, tossed green papaya, coriander and Vietnamese mint. The result is a hybrid food that’s described as generous in both size and flavour, hopefully inspiring a few more collaborations down the line, although nothing further has been announced.

The Báhn Mi Burger is available at both Hanoi Hannah and Huxtaburger for a limited time only, priced at $12.50 each. It can be ordered for dine-in or takeaway as well as through participating delivery services.
