Gold Coast’s new AVANI Broadbeach will connect guests to locals through their room keys

As the sun-soaked region continues to prepare for the big Commonwealth Games next year, Gold Coast is seeing some massive sweeping changes to its skyline. One of those latest changes is the addition of the enormous 219-key AVANI Broadbeach, the Australian debut from world renowned AVANI Hotels & Resorts set to open in just a few weeks. Not only that, but the centrally located residences will be launching a new concept by which a guest’s key will not only give them access to one of their luxury suite, but also to coveted “local knowledge” through the use of Facebook Messenger technology and a team of locals ready, willing and able to make sure visitors make the most of their time on the Gold Coast.

“Keys to the City” is a new initiative for both Australian and New Zealand AVANI properties. For Gold Coast, the brand is currently on the lookout for locals to join the program, with four successful applicants opening guests up to the best seaside bars, experiences and local culture available in and around Broadbeach. This will be done via a world’s first concept by which guests can use their smartphone to scan a Facebook Messenger code on their residence key and chat to experts any time they need a city recommendation during their stay.

“I spend a lot of time in Brisbane and need my dose of Vitamin Sea as often as I can get it. Broadbeach is my go to destination and I can’t wait to share it with Avani guests,” said former Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic, who will join successful applications as one of the “Keys to the City”. “We want to find locals with just as much passion for this beautiful place. If you know where to find those hidden gems and secrets spots that really make the Gold Coast special, get involved”.

This is a particularly useful program for Gold Coast, seeing as the many visitors to the area could use a bit more local knowledge that extends beyond just the beach and well-known strips like Surfers Paradise precinct (and Schoolies hub) Cavill Avenue.

In many ways this is the logical next step for the group, who have been pushing their “AVANIMe” initiative around the world, whereby the group team with bloggers and experts to share knowledge and guide guests towards unique experiences. Except for Broadbeach, local explorers have been included too and those keen on getting involved need only apply via social media (link below).

AVANI Broadbeach, which will feature a number of onsite facilities like a landscape terrace, outdoor swimming pool and sun deck, will open its doors to the public on Monday 4th December. The one and two bedroom suites that make up the residences will each feature a spacious open-plan layout with fully equipped kitchens and top-line appliances as well relaxing lounge and dining areas, smart TVs, laundry facilities, private balconies and complimentary Wi-Fi.
