Gelato Messina release new Tim Tam flavours: Turkish Delight, Iced Coffee and Choc-Cherry Coconut

For the second time ever, iconic Aussie snack lords Arnott’s have teamed up with dessert gods Gelato Messina to create three new gelato-inspired flavours for the infinitely loved Tim Tam. The last time we this dream collaboration popped up, we got four new iterations of the legendary biscuit, the best being “Black Forest” and the not-best being “Salted Caramel & Vanilla” (sorry guys, Zumbo did it better). Now we’re getting three vastly different flavours, and from a quick taste test by the offices over here at the AU, we can confidently state that this range is well worth a look.

First, we’ve got the Choc Cherry Coconut, light and creamy with a preference for subtlety, which is surprising seeing as mostly any chocolate treat with coconut in it is usually overpowered by the snowy white shreds. Next up is the Turkish Delight, easily the most eye-catching of the bunch and likely to be the best-selling from the entire range; the filling inside these chocolate biscuits has the right amount of thickness and depth of flavour to really nail the profile. Last, and my personal favourite: the Iced Coffee with a strong aroma and potent hit of coffee.

“After the huge success of the first range of Tim Tam by Gelato Messina we knew we couldn’t make this a one-off partnership”, explained Tim Tam Marketing Manager Claire Kesby-Smith. “Tim Tam is Australia’s favourite chocolate biscuit and with the help of the gelato experts we’ve created three new flavours best served straight from the fridge to keep Aussies cool as the temperatures rise this summer”.

And chilled seems to be the intended way of serving these flavours. Arnott’s have even gone as far as using heat sensitive packaging (that reads “Chill Me” in large lettering) which transforms when put in the fridge, with the writing turning from white to blue.

“We were thrilled to be approached by Arnott’s again and embark on some bread-new Tim Tam flavour experiments”, said Messina Co-Owner Declan Lee. “We’ve delved deep into our gelato flavour bank and, after the popularity of last year’s range, we knew we had to come back with some exciting new combinations. Anything ‘chilled’ is our department, so after taste testing the new flavours many times, we’re all agreed, they taste even better straight from the fridge”.

The new range of Tim Tam by Gelato Messina are available nationally from 5th February 2018, priced at $3.65 per packet.
