It’s no surprise Trivia Night has become essential to just about every pub around the world, and it’s even less of a surprise that it’s often the most popular monthly event for local institutions like Sydney’s Toxteh Hotel, a frequent haunt for those living in and around Glebe.
The pleasant inner-west village is known for having one of the most engaged and dynamic local populations in Sydney, which is why on any given day The Toxteth (or “The Tocky” as it’s affectionately known) is packed with the kind of energy that’d make most publicans green with envy. The kinetic culture surrounding the beloved hotel is part of the reason why they have one of best Trivia Nights around. After a huge reception to their Game of Thrones and Seinfeld themed nights, the Toxteth team are looking to continue that winning streak with a brand new schedule of Tuesday Tocky Trivia.
In addition to their usual pool comps, meat raffles, and badge draws, The Tocky will be charging into the second Tuesday of each month with what is quite possibly the greatest line-up of trivia Sydney has ever seen. We’re talking everything from The Simpsons and 90’s pop to Friends and Disney, a special session dedicated to just The Lion King, and the super complex universe of Beverley Hills 90210.
Of course all that Trivia is going to need some brain fuel, which is where the kitchen comes into play. The Toxteth is known for their classic pub meals and contemporary seasonal dishes, with a strict dedication to keeping things nice and affordable for locals. You’ll always be able to find a $15 meal on the menu, including an ever-changing menu with Chef Warwick introducing eight new specials each and every Thursday for anyone who grows tired of the fan-favourite grazing boards and burgers.
