This $150 limited edition food box proves Porcine is one of the best new restaurants in Sydney

With Shane Delia’s recently launched Providoor Sydney has been going off lately, locked-down Sydneysiders have been getting used to getting food boxes delivered from some of the city’s best restaurants. Pre-proportioned ingredients are all ready to cook up into a hearty, restaurant-quality meal. It was only a matter of time before other restaurants hopped onto the trend, and it’s now no surprise to see a collaboration of this stature.

That’d be one of Sydney’s best new French restaurants, Porcine Bistro, teaming up with one of America’s most legendary distilleries, Buffalo Trace, for a Bourbon-flavoured BBQ kit that’s only available for a week.

The lockdown collab box is available for delivery and pick-up from this Friday 24th September, geared to showcase Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whiskey as well as sneak in a few treats that prove why Porcine is one of the best new restaurants in Sydney.

The kitchen’s chef, Nicholas Hill, purchased 3 whole Berkshire pigs, carved and smoked into various cuts as the main draw for the boxes. The top-tier, flavour-rich pieces of meat have been complemented by an exceptional prune pate en route, a mixture of spring vegetables with vinaigrette, an exceptionally indulgent cauliflower cheese pie, and a boozy banoffee & bourbon trifle. Also in the box is a jar of Treacle & Trace’ BBQ glaze, used to give the Berkshire pork chop a heady dose of perfectly-aged Bourbon so the cut is coated with all these beautiful toffee, vanilla, and molasses notes.

To up the value, each limited edition food box will include a bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon, and of course simple instruction on how to prepare each ingredient.

If you want to splurge on something special during lockdown, there are few options over the next week as tempting as this one. If you want to get your order in, you’ll need to hit up Porcine online before Thursday 23rd September 5pm for delivery or pick-up on Friday the 24th or Saturday 25th. Orders can be made here.

Porcine is located at 268 Oxford Street Paddington, Sydney 2021
