Surry Hills hotspot The Clock Hotel gets arty with Bombay Sapphire and local creatives

Though we weren’t able to attend Vivid this year, Surry Hills’ The Clock Hotel are putting on their luminous art exhibition in partnership with Bombay Sapphire, hosting the alluring “RE-CLAIMED”. Prepare for an an enigmatic light and sound experience created by Sydney artist Sam Whiteside and design-driven creative studio Babekuh.

The Clock Hotel will, temporarily, become a Gin Garden with live cinematic sound performances every Thursday night with Sydney-based producer/composer Patrick Santamaria and Sam Whiteside. Sip on some exclusive limited edition cocktails handpicked by ACME’s Ed Loveday and enjoy the audio-visual atmosphere with cocktail masterclasses available, held by Bombay Brand Ambassador, Loy Cotada.

Sam Whiteside and Babekuh talk us through the inspiration behind their RE-CLAIMED installation:

“The organised systems that humans create have an inherently finite life-span, which inevitably give way to the apparent chaos of nature when left unattended. ‘RE-CLAIMED’ is an observation of urban decay and the eerily beautiful tension between man and nature. The piece centres around a monolithic lighting sculpture which will be programmatically responsive to an accompanying score and sound design – giving the piece an ever-evolving, performative aspect.”

The installation is now on and will run up until Sunday, November 15. For more information head on over to The Clock Hotel
