Ex-Noma chefs to battle it out at Salaryman’s Ramen Wars (Sydney)

In what is looking to be a memorable, delicious showdown, two of Sydney’s best new restaurants – Silvereye and Master – will be heading along to increasingly popular Surry Hills ramen bar Salaryman to battle it out over the perfect bowl of ramen. In an inaugural event taking place on Sunday 15th May, the Silvereye team (Sam Miller and Tom Halpin) will compete with Master’s John Javier with the resulting bowls judged by the ticket-holding, noodle-slurping diners who have the good sense to head along and help referee this great ramen fight.

Before opening their respective Sydney restaurants, all three of these chefs were best known for their time at the world-famous Noma, so an experiment like Ramen Wars should be a cakewalk for them, even if ramen may not be their area of expertise. What each team will be doing will remain a secret until the event, which lasts from 3pm to 8pm and is ticketed at $60pp. A cocktail will be matched to food, and a complimentary dessert will be provided to each hungry guest-judge.
