Delta Air Lines to launch Bombardier’s CS100 aircraft in 2018

Delta Air Lines have today announced that they will be the US launch customer for Bombardier’s new C series aircraft, the CS100, with 75 of the aircraft already on order.

The introduction of the new planes, due in 2018, will allow the company to reshape and upgrade its narrow-body fleet – 130 of which are being retired – with Bombardier and Delta promising improved customer experience and comfort.

With use of the latest turbofan PW1500G, Bombardier Inc. expects a 20% increase in fuel efficiency, along with reduced noise and emissions when the aircraft is ready for flight in 2018.

The CS100 will also feature a state-of-the-art interior, boasting the largest windows in the market, in flight wi-fi, wider seating and high capacity overhead bins. The single aisle aircraft will feature a two-by-three Main Cabin with Delta Comfort+ configuration, as well as a two-by-two First Class layout.

The plans will start flying in Spring 2018 on select domestic US routes.
