Aussies Abroad: Julia Jacklin announces mammoth North American & European World Tour

This has been an incredible year for Aussie musician Julia Jacklin, who has not stopped touring the globe since the beginning of the year, taking in SXSW in the US and The Great Escape in Brighton, England, bookended by what were her first interstate Australian shows in January, and a sold out tour at home in May.

I sat down with her at SXSW to chat about it all:

Off the back of all this hard work, she has not only confirmed an Australian/New Zealand label deal with Liberation Music and publishing deal with Mushroom Music; but also coveted international signings with Transgressive Records (UK/Europe) and Polyvinyl Records (North America). And she’s not stopping anytime soon. She’ll be undertaking a brief Australian East Coast run in late July with Sydney’s Middle Kids, before touring North America, the UK and Europe for almost the entire year. Along the run she’ll play eight major festivals, and see support slots from buzzworthy Chicago act, Whitney and New Zealander, and Australian favourite, Marlon Williams.

All this, and the debut album from the Blue Mountains guitarist and Singer/Songwriter still hasn’t even been released. But Liberation Music, who will be putting out the record in Australia, promise more details on that soon, with the expectation of its release before the end of the year. Taken from the anticipated record, her single ‘Pool Party’ can be found below, alongside all her tour dates:
