Jimmy Eat World announce Australian tour celebrating 25 years of Bleed American

Jimmy Eat World Australia tour

It’s finally confirmed: Jimmy Eat World are returning to Australia in December on a headline tour celebrating their classic album Bleed American’s 25th anniversary.

They will visit Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane on their first Australian headline tour since 2017 and the final shows anywhere in the world to wrap up their current tour celebrating the legendary record.

Joining Jimmy Eat World on all Australian dates will be Ruby Fields and A. Swayze & The Ghosts, adding even more energy to an already stacked lineup.

Across the four dates, fans can expect to hear Bleed American performed in full alongside a stack of favourites from one of alternative rock’s most enduring bands.

Released in 2001, Bleed American transformed Jimmy Eat World into one of the defining bands of the era, with classics like “The Middle”, “Sweetness” and “A Praise Chorus”. Twenty-five years later, the record continues to bring back memories of being the soundtrack to our teenage bedrooms, late-night drives and festival sing-alongs around the world—from original fans now in their 40s and 50s, to the new generation of Jimmy Eat World fans coming through.

For Australian fans, it’s a long-awaited return. While Jimmy Eat World last visited our shores in 2023 as special guests on My Chemical Romance’s stadium tour, this will be the first chance in almost a decade to catch the band as a headliner. Before that, the band toured nationally in 2017 in support of Integrity Blues, and prior to that, the Futures 10 year anniversary tour in 2014. This tour has been a long time coming, and their fans have been waiting desperately.

These dates promise to be a celebration of one of the most beloved records of the 2000s and a reminder of why Jimmy Eat World have remained one of alternative rock’s most reliable live acts for more than two decades.

Fans are also eagerly waiting for the Good Things Festival lineup to drop, with the current tour dates conveniently structured to allow Jimmy Eat World to easily fit into the GT schedule… we can only wait and see!

Ticket sales for the Bleed American tour begin with Fan and PayPal pre-sales on 13th July, with general public sales beginning at 11 am on Thursday, 16 July. Further tour information is available via TEG Live.
