33rd annual Glebe Street Fair announces program for this weekend (Sydney)

Glebe Street Fair will return for it’s 33rd year this weekend, filling one of Sydney’s best known stretches with a celebration of local community and culture. Set for Sunday 20th November, the country’s longest street fair will present a program of live performances, market stalls, talks, contests, workshops and music to a great number of Sydneysiders, approximated at around 100,000 visitors.

More than 200 street stalls have been prepared and will line the strip, essentially taking Glebe’s famous weekly markets and stretching it with a range of artisan jewelry, vintage fashion, local art, and of course food and drink vendors which will all be curated into one area called “food truck alley.”

Three stages will be set up for live entertainment, the main one located in the basketball courts with a bar and the likes of indie-pop artist Iluka and hip hop duo Coda Conduct set to showcase their latest material. Blues fans will be excited to know Marlene Cummins and Alice Terry are also set to perform on the day, while roots and reggae fans will crowd to see The Strides as well as the DJs from Inner West Reggae Disco Machine.

Kids entertainment will be focused on the grounds of Glebe Public School (think pony rides and interactive performances) while older festivalgoers will be able to participate in a series of workshops, demonstrations and talks ranging from glass blowing to ceramics.
