It’s not often a power bank genuinely impresses me. Most are either too small to be useful or too bulky to be practical. But after putting Zyron’s new Powastellar 27,000mAh 140W PD3.1 Power Bank through its paces at PAX Aus 2025, I can confidently say this is the best power bank I’ve ever used — and it makes all of the generic Amazon power banks look like toys in comparison.
Design – Built Like a Tank, Carries Like a Feather
Let’s get this out of the way — yes, it’s a bit heavy. But surprisingly, that never became an issue. Whether I tossed it into a laptop bag, backpack or tote, I quickly forgot it was even there. The premium aluminium housing gives it a solid, durable feel without tipping into brick territory. The torch on the bottom is well hidden, so it doesn’t protrude outside of the unit itself. Two rubber feet on the bottom make it easy to place the powerbank down on any surface and not slip away.
At the top of the unit are your input and output. It has two USB-C connections and one USB-A connector. They can be used as inputs to charge or as outputs to charge other devices; there is no specified port for charging the unit or your devices, which gives you the ease of plug-and-go functionality. You don’t even need to turn the unit on with the power button to charge.
Many times during my testing, I would just connect a cable to my phone, and it would detect my device in desperate need of a charge and would automatically start charging. When I was fully charged, I could just disconnect the cable and put the cable back in my phone, knowing the power bank would auto switch off.

Performance – A Screen That Actually Matters
The standout feature is the bright TFT display. Instead of vague blinking LEDs, you get real-time stats: battery percentage, voltage, and output distribution across ports. It’s seriously satisfying to know exactly how much power you’ve got left instead of guessing. The button navigation is snappy and intuitive — even enabling the built-in LED flashlight is quick and painless.
There are three modes on the torch: standard, bright and SOS, which emits a flashing light for attracting attention. The display also shows you the temperature of the room and the temperature of the device. While it’s not an essential feature, it’s great to be able to be aware of this so as not to overheat your devices and the powerbank itself. On the front display screen, it will show you the percentage of the power bank, and then next to that, the amount of wattage and whether it’s input or output.

A True Multi-Device Beast
Here’s where it blew me away. Over a hectic three-day stint covering PAX Aus, this single unit charged:
-
My 2-year-old iPhone, which went from near-empty to 100% super fast, and kept it topped up all day long (seriously, from 7:30 am to 10 pm)
-
My Nintendo Switch 2, which, if anyone who knows the console knows that battery is really not its strong point.
-
And my MacBook Pro laptop — all without breaking a sweat
Triple-device charging is no gimmick — this thing is a full-on portable wall socket that you can easily rely on to keep everything charged.
The secret lies in its 140W PD3.1 output paired with automotive-grade EVE Energy 21700 cells. These are the same calibre of batteries used in electric vehicles, rated for over 1,000 recharge cycles, making this a long-term investment rather than disposable tech.

Fast In, Fast Out
Recharging the power bank itself is just as impressive. Using Zyron’s 140W charger, it hit 64% in 30 minutes and fully recharged in under an hour. Even better — it supports pass-through charging, so you can keep powering your phone or laptop while the bank recharges. This came in particular use at my hotel stay with limited wall outlets on the bedside table.
Safety & Samsung Users Rejoice
With a 15-layer safety system and smart temperature monitoring, overheating is never a concern — even while pushing heavy wattage. Samsung Galaxy owners also get 45W PPS Fast Charging, meaning this isn’t just Apple or laptop-centric — it’s optimised for high-end Android devices too. Regrettably, I don’t own a Samsung device, so I’m unable to comment on this aspect of the power bank.

Verdict & Value
There are power banks, and then there’s this thing. It doesn’t just recharge your devices — it replaces your wall charger altogether.
For travellers, gamers, digital nomads, or anyone who lives on the move, it’s an absolute must-have piece for your tech bag.
