Samsung brings its award-winning A30 Smart Lock to Australia

Unless you somehow magically lose your fingerprint, you’ll never have to worry about misplacing the front door keys again. That is, if you pick up Samsung’s newly launched A30 Smart Lock, which is the latest in the ever-growing smart home security sector.

Already racking up a nod at the International Design Excellence Awards, the A30 Smart Lock has been carefully built to offer easy installation (you only need a screwdriver) through voice-guided set-up, quickly sealing your chosen door with next-gen locking verification which requires either a fingerprint, unblocking through a dedicated app, or a pin.

“The A30 smart lock is the next step in creating a truly connected smart home that complements the needs of busy Australian families”, said Daniel Kim, Global Marketing Manager, Samsung SDS. “We know that people are looking for tech solutions that offer real value, solve real problems and make everyday life a bit easier. The A30 gives people one less thing to worry about.”

A30 has been designed to easily integrate with any current smart home ecosystem using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, allowing for voice control for added convenience and security. It then operates with a number of built-in safety features, including a “Lockout Mode” where more than five failed authentication attempts disables the keypad for 3 minutes, a dedicated “Away Mode” where the pad can trigger an alarm if anyone even attempts to open the door while you’re on that post-COVID staycation, a “Privacy Mode” that prevents your door from being unlocked from the outside, and “Randomizer Mode” which prevents people from guessing your code by any fingerprint marks left on the touchscreen.

Parents concerned their children might not have locked the front door can check remotely via a the app and simply lock the door with their phone.

There’s also “Auto Lock” mode, where you can set preferences from 10 to 120 seconds, allowing you to monitor who has entered the house and when. The app also allows people to generate one-time PIN codes for visitors or guests that need to access the home, making the A30 ideal for those running short term holiday rentals or an Airbnb.

The Samsung A30 Smart Lock is available nationally exclusively at Bunnings Warehouse for an RRP of A$569.
