Melbourne metalcore favourites Windwaker have become a leading force in Australia’s heavy scene and the year is shaping up to be a big one for them.
The band recently announced that their third album smile, you’re on camera will be out 23 October via Fearless Records and Civilians. To celebrate the release, Windwaker are embarking on a six-date national tour this October/November supported by The Pretty Wild in their Australian live debut, as well as RinRin and DREGG.
Accompanying the news is latest single and video “do or die”, their fourth offering from the awaited record. The track boasts chunky guitars and dark electronics with rap vocals between falsetto and screams criticising the class vs. culture wars.
“smile, you’re on camera is undeniably our best and most focused collection of songs to date,” says the band. “We learned so much making this record together, and we’re incredibly proud of what it’s become. It opens the door to who we are, and offers a glimpse into our world through the highs and the lows.”
“We are so excited to bring our new album to life on stages all around Australia,” adds vocalist Liam Guinane. “We’ve poured so much into this record, and we can’t wait to play these songs live for the very first time.”
After recently completing their first US headline run and making their Sonic Temple Festival debut, Windwaker will be playing Perth in October before continuing through to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane in November.
Don’t miss your chance to catch bangers like “victory lap”, “closer” and “do or die” at a venue near you in what is set to be a career highlight for one of the country’s most exciting live acts right now.

Get your tickets early and start stretching your neck. You’re gonna need it.
