Track of the Week: I Know Leopard “Lover Automatic” (2021)

I Know Leopard

Sydney trio I Know Leopard are back with a new tune, “Lover Automatic”, and we are thrilled to have it as our Track of the Week. It’s a welcome return for the trio, after their breakout 2019 album, Love Is A Landmine.

“Lover Automatic” is one of those tracks which sucks you in with repeat listens. It has an infectious pop hook with sweet falsetto vocals from Luke O’Loughlin. He sings of being unable to resist the lure of love, no matter the danger.

The violin of Jenny McCullagh is always a joy to hear, and Rosie Fitzgerald on bass reminds us why she in such high demand. We might not have seen I Know Leopard performing live for a while, but we’ve seen Rosie on stage with so many East Coast bands over the last year or two.

The track was produced by Kon Kersting (Tones and I, Mallrat).

They have also dropped a video for the clip which was designed and directed by Luke Saunders. It shows Luke, Jenny and Rosie as vampires travelling through a psychedelic landscape.

To celebrate the new material, the band have a couple of gigs lined up in Melbourne and Sydney this month (lockdowns permitting!). See below for dates and links to tickets.
