Track of the Week: Chris Lanzon “Always Forever” (2021)

Chris Lanzon

Sydney singer-songwriter and producer Chris Lanzon releases a new single, his second for the year, today. “Always Forever”, is the final single to be released from Lanzon’s forthcoming EP Far From Perfect, which is out June 11th on Hunnydew Recordings.

“Always Forever”, with its soft instrumentation and lyrical introspection, is a delicate and charming slice of folk. The interplay between the two vocals is a lovely touch, and for me is somewhat reminiscent of Sigur Ros’ more delicate numbers – minus the Icelandic and Gobbledegook, of course. It’s a beautiful track; understated, but still full of character and warmth. It’s also a pleasant warm up for the main event that’s due next month. Here’s what Chris had to say about “Always Forever”:

“Always Forever is definitely something new from me, from both a songwriting and production perspective, and that’s what I love about it. I started the base idea with my friend Nick Ward at his place, then took it home and wrote the lyrics and melody and fleshed out the production. I think it’s one of the happiest songs I’ve made, and it feels warm and infectious in the best way possible. I hope it can pass on that feeling when people hear it.”

Hit play on “Always Forever” and be sure to pre-save Far From Perfect ahead of its June release date.

“Always Forever” is out now. You can find Chris Lanzon on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
