Track of the Day: Split Feed “Dwell” (2019)

We’ve got an exciting new track from Newcastle 4-piece Split Feed. This new track will be on their sophomore EP Second Skin which is due out on November 8. These guys have been touring hard the last year or two, and have supported the likes of Dear Seattle, The Rubens, and British India. The hard effort is paying off in this polished track.

It starts with a pulsing bassline, the guitars kick in, then the sweet vocals take over. The song deals with the end of a relationship, and the realisation that getting plastered isn’t the way to get yourself out of the post-relationship funk.

Front-man Joe Willis tells us “‘“Dwell’ is a song that delves with the struggle of the realisation that someone doesn’t feel the same way towards you anymore”. And furthermore “It’s quite a noticeably darker song lyrics-wise, but I think it perfectly illustrates how I was feeling during this time.”

Give it a listen, these punk rockers have a great sound. We look forward to hearing the rest of the EP when it lands.
