Track of the Day: Sahara Beck “Here We Go Again” (2018)

In anticipitation of her performance at BIGSOUND 2018 next month, Brisbane singer-songwriter Sahara Beck has dropped her new single “Here We Go Again”. Produced by the ARIA Award-nominated Tony Buchen (Courtney Barnett, Montaigne), the track is a welcome blast of art pop brimming with attitude and swagger. “Here We Go Again” is a stirring proclamation of independence and individuality, with Beck stating:

“The song’s a love letter to myself. I thought I should write one just for me for a change. It’s saying you should love others, but don’t let anyone drag you down or suck the good energy out of you”.

Her first release since 2016 album Panacea, “Here We Go Again” marks an evolution in Becks’ sound, though there certainly appears to be no equivocation in her new direction. It’s a bold and self-assured track, with a booming arrangement and strong vocal performance that really hooks the listener in. It’s safe to say that with “Here We Go Again” Beck definitely makes a statement!

Festival attendees can catch Sahara Beck at BIGSOUND in September, where she’ll be playing at the Empire Hotel on Wednesday 5th Sept at 11:40pm. You can also follow her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more information and updates.
