The Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have just released a killer video for their latest blistering release, “Tally-Ho”. This single is the fourth off their upcoming album, the imaginatively titled SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound, which is due to be released on 5th February 2021. The band has some shows lined up, supporting Ocean Alley – details below.
“Tally-Ho” is PPC at their best. It’s blistering, searing, packed with massive guitar riffs and a hell of a lot of fun. The video was created by Oliver Jones from Better Feeling Films, as part of a trilogy which he will complete in the new year. It’s an intergalactic extravaganza utilising hand-made claymen, which whilst taking an age to create, look totally awesome in the clip.
Jones gave the AU some insight into his labour of love, and how sometimes, things didn’t quite stay where they should have. “For whatever reason, T-Bones eyes wouldn’t stay in place and were constantly falling out and onto the floor in a mess of plasticine and wires. So I spent a lot of my time crawling around looking for his eyeballs. I know for next time to just buy more eyes.”
As you would probably expect, it proved to be quite a time-consuming exercise. “Spending the best part of an entire day on sculpting a character that features in the video for all of one second. I won’t be doing that again, hah.”
And, who would have thought that working with plasticine would prove to be so hazardous? “I sprained my wrist mixing together plasticine. I didn’t even know that was possible. It was quite a lot of plasticine though.”
