When a devastating personal loss pushed him to quit his FIFO job, Cairns artist Drewboy threw himself into his music. Fast forward a couple of years, including appearances at Groovin’ the Moo, and his latest single, “Time to Say Goodbye” seems to tap into those harder times, an emotional sing-along of a song accompanied by a video filmed in stunning North Queensland.
It’s not just music that lights the fire in Drewboy; he’s also dedicated to his mental health charity Kick On. As a former FIFO worker, he’s only too aware of the struggles faced by the men and women who work so far removed from their friends and family. His upcoming tour, running from April 8th to 18th, will hit FIFO camps around the country, spreading awareness and, hopefully, making one or two people feel a little less alone.
