The Last 5 Years: Zeahorse (Sydney)

the AU review turned five years old earlier this month, and to celebrate, throughout the month of August we’re asking many of our music industry friends to help us look back on the last five years of music! Today we catch up with rockers (and favourites of the AU) Zeahorse who fill us in on their 5 favourite Australian albums of the last 5 years.

Zeahorse’s Top 5 Australian albums from the past 5 years:

TALONSSelf-Titled. Best Sydney band in recent memory to call it quits, and after such an amazing LP too.

THE DRONESI See Seaweed. I love how they manage to keep such a dark and uniquely Australian feel in their music. One of their best albums.

NARROW LANDSPopular Music That Will Live Forever. Not out till October but the two track ‘December Clone’ single release is an outrageous aural assault in the best possible way. I think we’re all in for a treat.

TUCKER B’sNightmares In The Key of (((WOW))). The weirdest Australian band of all time? If men in latex skirts are your thing, then go see the Tucker B’s. Not easy to mix such amazing music with such a bizarre sense of humour.

NO ANCHORReal Pain Supernova. Our friends from Brisbane. Heavy as shit. Brutal as shit. They basically epitomise everything that is good about shit.
