Take That bring Sophie Ellis-Bextor back to Australia for a huge tour

Take That

For the first time since 2017 British pop royalty, Take That – with three of the original line-up – return to Australia for their This Life On Tour extravaganza.

Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald will bring the act around the country in October and November 2024 playing a series of arenas and spectacular A Day on the Green wineries along the way.

Released last year, Take That’s ninth studio album, This Life, marked the band’s first album since 2017’s Wonderland. The album stormed to Number 1 on the UK’s Official Charts and was the biggest selling album from a UK artist in 2023, outselling the whole Top 25 combined.

The group formed in 1989 with Robbie Williams and Jason Orange completing the five-piece. They released three record-breaking albums before disbanding in 1996. Four members (sans Williams) reunited for 2005’s The Ultimate Tour. This sparked one of the greatest comebacks in British music history with Take That going on to release three Number 1 albums in just four years. Robbie’s return for 2011’s Progress saw them break UK records for the fastest-selling album of the 21st century and fastest-selling tour of all time.

They will be bringing fellow British pop singer, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, along for the tour who has recently seen her “Murder on the Dancefloor” track surge in popularity since the movie, ‘Saltburn’ was released. She has, of course, released seven albums since her debut, Read My Lips in 2001 and was a viral hit during Covid lockdowns with her entertaining ‘Kitchen Discos’ including her family jumping around their house to music as she sang.

Local singer, Ricki-Lee, will take a break from her hosting duties on Australian Idol and Nova Drive, to join Take That’s A Day on the Green winery shows.

Kicking off at Perth’s RAC Arena on Wednesday the 30th of October, the band will hit the road, playing shows at Peter Lehmann Wines in the Barossa Valley on Saturday the 2nd of November, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday the 6th of November and Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Thursday the 7th of November, before heading to wine country with stops at the Hunter Valley’s Bimbadgen and Sirromet Wines in Queensland’s Mount Cotton on the 9th and 10th of November weekend.

Pre-sale tickets can be bought from Wednesday the 7th of February at 3pm (AEDT) via frontiertouring.com/takethat.

General tickets on sale from Tuesday the 13th February at 1pm local time (AEDT).
