Turnover‘s new single “Super Natural” takes me to finishing high school – there’s fusion of excitement and confusion in what’s to come next but nevertheless, the shimmer of anticipation remains high.
In the band’s newest release, they’ve managed to encapsulate a lyrical theme of an all-encapsulating love and package it right up into a hazy, shoegaze-injected dream. The vocals and the guitar marry together so easily, it’s easy to forget where you are when you’re listening to “Super Natural” through a pair of decent headphones.
“That song is specifically about just one type of love, romantic love, and how it became almost meditative for me.” frontman Austin Getz says. “It made me feel so relaxed, but at the same time I could feel it was something so big…it’s ‘super natural’ and it’s ‘supernatural'”.
“Super Natural” is taken from Turnover’s forthcoming album Good Nature, out on August 25th.
