Single of the Day: The John Steel Singers “Midnight At The Plutonium” (2016)

The John Steel Singers get funky on new single, “Midnight At The Plutonium” a noticeably new direction for the Brissy favourites to have headed in.

Over the last few years, they’ve been working on new music reflective of their jump down a rabbit hole in exploring funk and soul-infused records from the 70’s and in bringing such influences together with their own style (which we particularly dug with the release of Tangalooma), the band has got quite the cool new sound going on.

We’ve already heard some hits from the band’s new album Midnight At The Plutonium in “Can You Feel The Future” and “Weekend Lover”, but the album’s title track may just be one of our favourite JSS releases yet.
